Back in 1985, world renowned athletes Joline Esparza and husband Ken Mills started JL Racing in California. Today with retail stores in Seattle and now Manayunk PA in Philadelphia County and a web store, JL Racing is changing athletic gear including how it’s made using eco-friendly production techniques.
This sports gear company specializes in rowing, cycling, triathlon, yoga and running gear all from the original designs of Esparza who way back in the 1980s knew American-made meant something. The factory in California is run with 60 percent solar power and all clothing is made in Bluesign certified mills. Becoming Bluesign certified is one of the hardest sustainable manufacturing certification to obtain and JL Racing is proud of their environmentally-friendly efforts.
Along with their U.S. presence, they also have international hubs in many countries to produce ready-to-wear clothing and also help with outfitting sports teams and are happy sponsors of many professional teams.
A spokesperson for the company said of their Philadelphia (Manayunk) location, “Manayunk is obviously our first choice in Philadelphia proper. It is an epicenter of rowing and cycling and the athletic community is really thriving—we chose this location because of that.”
To help promote the JL Racing brand in and around Philadelphia, the company turned to Sunrise Signs for Chevy Express van wraps.
For these Chevy Express van wraps the sides received green stripes and white lettering to represent their corporate colors along with the company name and logo in a tilt-style design over a stunning black canvas. Also on the sides is one of their brands, JL Velo and what the clothing line stands for, “Uncompromised Cyclewear.”
For optimal brand building, the rear of these Chevy Express van wraps bears their logo on the rear windows along with a reminder to “shop” their new store in Philadelphia. We also included star bullet points on essential elements of buying from JL Racing including how gear is made in the USA using solar energy and recycled content, no minimum customizable team store available and their street address and telephone number.
Now as JL Racing’s Chevy Express van drives the streets of Philadelphia and the Manayunk neighborhood it is getting noticed and driving sales.
