3M Scotchprint Series 1080: Brushed Metal Car Wraps Hit the Mainstream
Car personalization has definitely entered it's renaissance period. Never before have there been so many options to remove your car from being exactly equal and alike amongst the masses.
Leading the car wrap personalization charge is the 3M Scotchprint Series 1080 wrap vinyl. Their matte black and carbon fiber films have been a big hit in the after market because of the quality of the film, and the air release technology that allows for a bubble free installation.
Due to increasing popularity of these wrap films, 3M recently expanded the series 1080 to include gloss, metallic, and now brushed metal wrap vinyl.
All I can say is that this stuff is hot! Brushed metals have been very popular around the home, and even for signage solutions. Now you can bring the look of brushed metal to your ride. Whether you do the hood, roof, mirrors, and tail, or the entire vehicle, brushed metal is a standout look!
Currently, there are six color options for the 3M 1080 Brushed Metal: Black Metallic, Steel, Titanium, Aluminum, Gold, and Blue Steel. Personally, the brushed steel is my favorite. The other colors aren't far behind.
Other than the detail in the film that makes it look just like actual brushed metal, the 3M series 1080 has the same features as Controltac™ Films with Comply™ v3 Adhesive, that is, slideable and repositionable adhesive with virtually invisible air release channels. This technology doesn't mean you should self install, but helps experienced installers give you a paint like finish.
