The #1 Misconception about Fleet Vehicle Wraps Uncovered!
In a recent article, we discussed if vehicle wraps were right for you. After all, they are not for everyone. As much as we are being qualified as the right company for the job, we are qualifying as well, and not everyone fits the bill. For those that do make the grade, but are uncertain about moving forward, today we are going to dig a little deeper into what might be holding you back from vehicle wrap advertising.
Upon speaking with thousands of people who inquiry about fleet vehicle wraps, we've learned that there is one perception that is commonly misunderstood about this advertising medium. Let's break down and uncover the #1 misconception about fleet vehicle wraps.
Proud to be Loud???
I once received a call from a Landscape company in Florida that was inquiring about a fleet vehicle wrap design. After talking with this gentleman for about five minutes I realized that they had already had a design completed, but weren't happy with the result. Upon probing a little deeper, I found out that what was supposed to be a landscape company vehicle wrap, came back from design full of flames and other loud effects!!! How awful!!!
No wonder they were upset, and no wonder why "loud and proud" vehicle wraps are the number one misconception we deal with as an industry. I had now experienced this stumbling block first hand. Why did some designer incorporate flames onto a wrap design? I have no idea?!?
So although vehicle wraps have a incredible recall rate, several outdoor advertising studies have the number above 90%, apparently our own industry is giving them a bad name by making them too loud and obtrusive, and apparently flames as needed as well.
Yes Proud, when the Client says so!
How do we know about loud wraps? We've done them...in fact, several of them. Are we ignoring our own advice and design approach? Certainly not. There are actually indeed cases when a client is looking for "the louder, the better". They are looking for a reaction from the viewer. It's hard to argue with the end result. People see their fleet vehicle wraps and connect with their brand.
Here are a few examples of our louder fleet vehicle wraps:

Each of these examples might be considered loud in their own way, but would they get your attention if you saw one driving down the road? Of course! They certainly aren't a match for all business types, and that's why some people like vanilla, and some chocolate. What's key here is that we can satisfy both hungers.
When Vanilla is an Ice Cream Sundae in Disguise
The beauty of fleet vehicle wraps is no matter the design, as long as it's good, it will be noticed, recognized, and recalled. So we can actually make plain old vanilla into an ice cream sundae in disguise. Using subtle, but sharply contrasting colors, and limited, however emotional images, we can really grab someones attention. Most importantly, it can be done with class, and demonstrate professionalism, trustworthiness, and that perfect vital first impression that many of our clients are striving for.
Here are some examples of simple and subtle that stand out in any crowd:

We can definitely appreciate this misconception about vehicle wraps. It is reality that they do exist. We suggest to let your taste and the goals for your company drive the design that suites your needs.
