How Vehicle Wraps Can Maximize Your Green Investment

green vehicle wrapsThere are plenty of reasons to invest in a more efficient or alternative fuel vehicle. Lower fuel cost, reduced impact on the environment, reputation as an innovative company, and increased goodwill with your customer base are some of the more popular motivating factors.

If your organization has made the step toward alternative fuel vehicles, have you considered wrapping the vehicle to proudly announce its presence and purpose? A vehicle wrap that highlights your organization’s rolling commitment to sustainable practices can maximize the publicity return on your investment. You’ve made socially responsible decisions, and there’s no shame in drawing attention to your investment in an aesthetically pleasing way!

Your vehicle wrap can highlight the type of sustainable fuel or technology your vehicle uses with proclamations such as “This Vehicle Runs on Clean Natural Gas,” or “Powered by Clean, Domestic Propane Autogas.” You may also consider focusing on the vehicle as direct evidence of your organization’s commitment to the environment: “Proudly Driving Toward a Cleaner Future with Electric Vehicles.” Do you have a mission statement or sustainability statement? Is there an icon that represents a green product or service your company sells? If so, these should all be incorporated into the wrap to further reinforce your program.

The use of the color green, or green imagery, will also help draw eyes toward your company vehicle. Many people are conditioned to automatically associate green with sustainability. Once you draw them in, the additional details contained on the wrap will give the viewer more specific information about your sustainability commitment.

Vehicle wraps are typically a cost effective addition to most companies’ existing marketing/promotional budget. Think about what your organization currently spends on public relations, advertising, and other communications efforts. Now think about how large of an audience is ultimately reached with those dollars. A pretty expansive customer base is usually reached with a well planned communications plan. But, now think about how many people will see your wrapped company vehicles on the road, parked, on the job…that’s an undeniably good bang for your buck considering these vehicles are already running the routes and contributing to the revenue stream.

Lastly, consider walking the walk when selecting your wrap materials. They explain that although certain chemicals have to be used to ensure that wraps last for years despite constant exposure to the elements, there are options that are odorless and use less ink. Also, certain suppliers offer recycling programs so ink cartridges don’t end up in landfills. You do have choices!
